What length and width should a ukulele strap be?

The right strap length depends on your height, your instrument and how you prefer to play. If you wear your ukulele higher, you need a shorter strap than when playing it lower.

All our design ukulele straps adjust continuously from 80 to 135 cm. Available widths depend on the design: shimmering brocade models come in 32 or 38 mm, while retro-style models and solid-colour nylon models are 38 mm wide.

Our leather ukulele straps are 50 mm wide and adjust from 88 to 110 cm using a traditional ladder adjustment system.

Which width suits your instrument best is largely a matter of personal taste. A narrow 32 mm strap can look particularly harmonious with a small ukulele.

What is the difference between our design ukulele straps and leather ukulele straps?

Our designer ukulele straps consist of strong, soft cotton webbing with a non-slip underside. Depending on the design, we use elegant brocade fabrics with shimmering patterns and depth, matte woven bands with striking retro patterns, or solid-colour nylon webbing with a subtle herringbone texture.

Every designer ukulele strap is lovingly handmade in our German workshop, combining distinctive looks with comfortable wear.

Our leather ukulele straps are carefully handcrafted in saddlery quality by our partner workshop in Portugal. Made from soft genuine leather with a non-slip suede underside, they offer a naturally elegant alternative to our textile designs.

How do I attach a strap to my ukulele or mandolin?

If your ukulele or mandolin has two strap buttons, you can attach the strap directly. For our textile ukulele straps, you can select a hole size that suits your strap buttons or strap locks. Our leather ukulele straps have soft, flexible leather ends that adapt to different strap buttons.

If your instrument has only one strap button, you can use the supplied cord to attach the strap to the headstock. A particularly elegant alternative is our leather strap button adapter, which you can match to the leather and metal colours of your strap.

If your instrument has no strap buttons, we recommend having them fitted by a professional instrument workshop if needed.

Can I customise and engrave my ukulele strap?

Yes. You can choose the leather and metal colours, length and hole size of all our designer ukulele straps to suit your instrument and preferences. For brocade designs, you can also select a width of 32 or 38 mm. Our custom strap configurator offers numerous additional fabric designs to create your personal favourite.

You can also add a personal engraving to any of our ukulele straps, including leather models handmade in Portugal. Initials, a name or a suitable motif make your strap truly one of a kind.
