  • My favourite strap | Roman

    ★★★★★
I have owned many guitar straps, but this one is simply the best of them all. I now have three Steyner straps and they certainly will not be the last. The quality and service in particular have really won me over, and I am delighted with such wonderful straps.

    Perfect Match | Roland

    ★★★★★
For me, the guitar and the strap have to form a whole. This one achieves that perfectly. The quality of the workmanship and the feel are very good. It also provides excellent grip, so my neck-heavy Gibson SG stays in place.

  • Best strap ever | Heiko

So, my fifth Steyner strap! Perfect as always, with colours that match the guitar :) A beautiful strap, comfortable to wear, well made and a perfect fit. My guitars looked visibly pleased :-)

  • Absolutely wonderful straps | Catrinel

A special strap for a special guitar. I already own three and am very happy with them. They are comfortable, look fantastic and do exactly what they are supposed to do. They also feel securely attached to the guitar.

Why Choose a Solid-Colour Guitar Strap?

Solid-colour guitar straps are a great choice if you prefer a simpler look or deliberately want your guitar to take centre stage. Their monochrome colours are versatile, easy to coordinate and timeless. That applies as much to classic black or brown as to more vibrant shades.

Solid-colour straps look especially good on guitars that already have a lot of visual character. Striking wood grain, a flame top, a distinctive finish or a bold pickguard often need no competing pattern. An understated strap complements the guitar without stealing the spotlight.

But a single colour is far from boring. Different materials, woven textures and finishes give each strap its own character. That is why it is worth looking more closely.

Tone on Tone: Brocade Fabrics with Distinctive Texture

With our brocade fabrics, the special details are often subtle. Our black paisley guitar strap and Luxury Black Baroque demonstrate just how much texture a solid-colour strap can have. Their ornamental patterns are woven directly into the fabric and remain entirely tone on tone.

The weave changes appearance with the light. Sometimes the pattern stands out more clearly; at other times it is more restrained. And the texture is not only visible – you can feel it, too.

The strap therefore remains understated and monochrome, yet still has something distinctive. That is exactly what makes these fabrics so fascinating.

Not All Nylon Is the Same

Even with nylon, the details make all the difference. Among our outer materials, we use nylon with a distinctive herringbone texture and a subtle sheen. Our seatbelt material has a very different look: its characteristic weave recalls a classic safety belt and makes even an all-black strap visually interesting.

For our nylon guitar straps, the nylon is the visible outer fabric. On the reverse, we sew it to a coarser, non-slip cotton webbing. This adds much better grip on clothing and gives the strap more substance.

That makes a noticeable difference when you wear it. Instead of a thin nylon band, you have a soft, sturdy strap on your shoulder that does not dig in or constantly slip. This way, we combine the distinctive appearance of nylon with the comfort we expect from our guitar straps.

Leather and Faux Leather: From Velvety to Crocodile Texture

With leather, the finish makes a particularly noticeable difference to the impression a colour creates. Black nubuck has a soft, matte appearance thanks to its velvety surface. Smooth black leather reflects more light and has a completely different character.

Embossed surfaces add another dimension. A crocodile-style texture, for example, creates a more pronounced, expressive look. Faux leather can also feature distinctive textures and finishes.

So even if the colour remains unchanged, the effect can vary enormously: understated and matte, smooth and classic, or strongly textured.

Which Guitar Strap Colour Suits My Guitar?

Ultimately, the colour that suits your guitar comes down to personal taste. You can pick up shades already present in the wood, finish or pickguard, or deliberately choose a contrasting colour.

Black works with many guitars. Brown and natural tones often complement warm wood colours and vintage finishes beautifully. Brighter colours can reflect a particular detail on the guitar or make a deliberate statement.

With striking wood grain, a flame top or an unusual finish, a more understated strap can be a good choice. That way, the guitar itself stays in the spotlight.

Our Strap Gallery shows different combinations to suit the colour of your instrument. If you are unsure, our Perfect Match service can help you find a suitable strap.
