  • Schwarze Flying V mit gepolstertem Steyner Gitarrengurt

    Manfred K.

Fantastic strap, elegant design, beautifully made and especially non-slip, just as described. In more than 50 years I never gave much thought to my guitar straps; they all worked somehow. But I recently bought a very neck-heavy Flying V and discovered Steyner while looking for a solution. Luckily, because it saved me from drilling new strap-button holes in that beautiful instrument. These straps are amazing and a real treasure trove if you want something special.

  • Helle Custom Telecaster E-Gitarre mit gepolstertem Steyner Gitarrengurt Eastern Ivory

This strap is absolutely amazing! I never imagined a guitar strap could be so incredibly comfortable and, of course, look so good too! Playing feels noticeably better and I can only recommend these straps, especially the padded ones. And I am not the only one impressed: everyone who sees it loves it. Thank you for making such a wonderful, high-quality product!

  • Sunburst Les Paul mit schwarzem gepolstertem Steyner Gitarrengurt

    Andreas

At first I was not sure whether to spend so much on a strap for my heavy Les Paul. What can I say? I am delighted! The workmanship is excellent, the guitar’s weight is distributed really well and I do not regret buying it, especially as I have back problems. I also switched to Schaller strap locks at the same time. Buying both together was the best decision. I am no professional, just an amateur who recently started learning electric guitar. Good equipment makes practising even more enjoyable.

  • Gitarrist mit gepolstertem Steyner Gitarrengurt Wildrose

    Frank

I am absolutely delighted. The strap is superbly made, takes as much pressure as possible off my shoulder and looks fantastic! The entire service, from my first email to the purchase, was completely professional, extremely friendly, helpful and quick to respond, with knowledgeable advice and great taste. I was so impressed that I had another strap custom-made just one week later. And you are supporting a company from the Ruhr region too. It simply does not get better than that. Keep up the great work! Best, Frank

Padded Guitar Straps That Transform Your Playing Experience

Some guitar straps simply do their job. Others make you think the first time you put them on: Wow. Why have I not always played like this? That is exactly the feeling we wanted to achieve with our padded guitar straps.

Our extra-thick, ultra-soft special padding makes a difference you feel immediately. It compresses under the weight of your guitar, moulds to your shoulder and creates an exceptionally soft wearing experience.

Whether you play a heavy electric guitar or bass, or spend hours standing with a lighter western or acoustic guitar, our padding noticeably relieves shoulder pressure and can transform how playing feels.

We refused to compromise here: maximum comfort without giving up exceptional design. From understated solid colours to irresistibly beautiful patterns, our padded straps combine comfort and style like no others. Extra soft, flexible and body-hugging, they still complement your guitar’s appearance or give it a whole new character.

That is what makes these straps special to us: you do not have to choose between comfort and design. You get a guitar strap you want for its looks – and never want to take off after playing because it feels so incredibly good.

As comfortable as leather. As distinctive as Steyner.

Who Is a Steyner Padded Guitar Strap Especially Suitable For?

For many guitarists, their expectations of a strap change over time. Something that once rested comfortably on the shoulder for hours may eventually become uncomfortable.

Players with sensitive shoulders, necks or backs, or existing discomfort in those areas, often look for soft support and as little unpleasant pressure as possible. Our extra-thick, ultra-soft special padding can make an enormous difference and help make hours of playing more comfortable.

Body shape also affects where a strap sits across the shoulder and neck. For some players it runs close to the neck; for others it rests more on the shoulder. Stiff strap edges can become uncomfortable at sensitive spots. Our remarkably soft, flexible padding moulds to the body and stays soft even along the edges.

Playing time is important too. Anyone who spends hours standing during rehearsals, gigs or practice at home will particularly appreciate the cushioning – even more so with a heavy guitar.

Our padded straps are therefore especially suitable for heavy guitars, long rehearsals or performances, sensitive contact points and musicians dealing with shoulder, neck or back pain or other physical limitations. And of course for anyone who simply wants the greatest possible comfort while playing.

Does a Comfortable Guitar Strap Have to Be Leather?

When looking for a particularly comfortable guitar strap, many people first think of a leather guitar strap. And with good reason: leather is excellent for comfortable padded straps. But comfort does not depend on one particular material. How the entire strap is constructed matters much more.

Width, padding, flexibility, material thickness and the shape of the edges all affect how a strap feels on the shoulder. A leather strap can be beautifully padded yet relatively firm. A textile strap, by contrast, can be extremely soft and flexible while offering substantial cushioning.

That is the combination we wanted for our padded Steyner straps: exceptional wearing comfort combined with the design variety of our textile guitar straps.

Anyone looking for comfort therefore has more choices than just leather or fabric. Our padded straps feature especially soft, flexible cushioning and an extraordinary selection of fabrics, colours and patterns. So you can play in comfort while coordinating with your guitar’s design, complementing it or making a deliberate statement.

As comfortable as leather, yet unmistakably Steyner: outstanding wearing comfort and a variety of designs rarely found in traditional comfort straps.

What Makes Our Padding So Special

When developing our padded guitar straps, we had one clear goal: the padding should do more than simply exist. You should feel the difference the very first time you put the strap on.

That is why we use exceptionally thick yet ultra-soft velvet padding of approximately 14 mm. Under your guitar’s weight, it yields, compresses gently and adapts to the shape of your shoulder. Instead of feeling stiff or rigid, it creates the especially soft, almost cushion-like sensation that defines our padded straps.

The edges mattered just as much. When a strap passes close to the neck because of a player’s physique, firm edges may become uncomfortable. The outer edges of our padded straps are therefore exceptionally soft and flexible, following the contours of shoulder and neck comfortably.

At approximately 7 cm wide, the strap also offers a generous contact area. But it is not width alone that matters most to us; it is the combination of substantial padding, extreme softness and flexibility. After all, a wide strap is not automatically a comfortable one.

The result is padding you do not have to wear for three hours to appreciate. You feel the difference the moment you put the strap on. Exactly as we intended.

Which Guitar Strap Is Best for a Heavy or Neck-Heavy Guitar?

With heavy guitars such as a Les Paul, thick, soft padding makes a huge difference. It is not just the width of a guitar strap that matters, but above all how the padding responds to the instrument’s weight.

Our padded straps are especially soft and compress noticeably under load. The padding follows the contours of the shoulder, cushioning the guitar’s weight comfortably. This is particularly noticeable during long rehearsals, performances or practice sessions.

A strap is also important for neck-heavy guitars – instruments prone to so-called neck dive. Models such as a Gibson SG or certain Flying V guitars may tend to pull down at the neck because of their construction. Our soft padding compresses under the instrument’s weight and hugs the shoulder more closely, providing additional grip.

For heavy or neck-heavy guitars, this soft cushioning therefore brings two important benefits: exceptional comfort and extra non-slip grip on the shoulder.

Frequently asked questions about our padded guitar straps

What makes Steyner padded guitar straps different from others?

Our padded guitar straps combine two qualities that often require a compromise: exceptional comfort and exceptional design.

The approximately 14 mm thick, ultra-soft velvet padding compresses under the guitar’s weight, moulds to your shoulder and stays soft and flexible even around the edges. At the same time, you can choose from understated solid colours and extraordinary fabrics, colours and patterns.

With Steyner you never have to choose between comfort and design. You get an exceptionally comfortable strap that can also be a perfect match for you and your guitar.

Where are the padded guitar straps made?

Our padded guitar straps are made in our own Steyner workshop in Germany. From cutting the materials to completing the finished strap, every step is carried out carefully by hand.

This gives us control over materials, workmanship and quality, and lets us develop, customise and, when necessary, repair our straps ourselves.

How do I clean and care for my padded guitar strap?

Our padded guitar straps should not be machine-washed or soaked completely. Gently remove light dirt with a soft, damp cloth. For tougher stains, treat the affected area locally with a suitable stain remover, such as gall soap.

For unpleasant odours, you can use an antibacterial odour neutraliser designed for textiles. Always test cleaning products on an inconspicuous area first and apply sparingly. Above all, avoid soaking the padding through.

Which guitars are Steyner padded guitar straps suitable for?

Our padded straps are suitable for electric, western, acoustic and bass guitars. Their particularly soft 7 cm-wide padding distributes the weight comfortably and provides excellent wearing comfort.

Whether you play a heavy Les Paul, a Stratocaster or an acoustic guitar, the soft padding reduces shoulder pressure and makes long standing sessions more pleasant.

Our padded guitar straps are also well suited to bass guitars. If you prefer an even wider contact area, our padded bass straps come in widths of 8 cm or 9.5 cm.
